Date: 2006-Aug-04 Review by Dan P
Large greens produced some massive putts for my partner. I had difficulty reading the slope of the greens and found I had to "just go for it" on some. Nothing real severe in contours but enough to give you trouble.
The fairways were in good shape. Rarely a bad lie. Yardage markers are easy to find and good width.
    Many nicely tiered tees.
First time that I can remember playing a par 3 to an elevated green this year.
Getting in trouble is more your fault then the course. Trouble available but more to do with the selection of clubs and hitting through the fairway. Some bunkers had water as a result of recent heavy rain.
Nice variety of holes and yardages. Occasional need to drive ahead and look what's in store.
A higher end course with cart supplied with green fee. You don't want to walk even if the option were available.
The front nine gave me a challenge but I produced one of my best back nines of the season.
The course is tough if you miss hit. Being short can leave you fighting to recover as you'll face some extremely tough lies.
Some tee locations produce a spectacular view of many holes around you. The backdrop of hills is breathtaking.
Course was full with not a beverage cart to be found in very hot weather. Pant. Pant.
A station between the front and back served basic drinks and snacks. Thank goodness.
The marshal was pleasant. However, foursome in front of us was very slow and we asked the marshal to ask them to let us play through. Nope.
Clubhouse has a nice appearance and suits the surroundings.
Directions to next hole weren't very clear but we didn't lose our way. Signs simply say 'Carts', and nothing about the hole number you're going to.
Heritage offers stay and play packages at a fair price. There's not a lot of anything else in the area besides golf so make sure that's what you want to do.
A bit of a hike from Ottawa but well worth a trip on a nice day.
