Review
Fox Creek Golf Club
Dieppe, NB
Bald EagleAug-2-2008
Greens: 9/10Some of the best greens I've played. Average sized, with deceiving contours that require a look from both sides of the hole, but roll very true.
Fairways: 9/10Conditions were fantastic. Many holes deceivingly long, and several uneven lies as some fairways have quite the elevation changes.
Tees: 10/10Tee boxes are of average size, though the tee marker setups are designed to aim you off center, so make sure you're lined up down the fairway. A slight disappointment is the lack of signage on the tees, though the cart does come with a GPS to help you gauge distances to bunkers, water, and greens.
Course Design: 10/10This is a Graham Cooke design, and it's a beauty with great variety from the long par 5 10th hole, with it's huge elevation changes, to the wickedly designed par 3 4th hole with it's pond short left and deep woods if you're long or right.
Value for $$$: 7/10With green fees at $75 and a cart at $40, it makes for an expensive day on the course, but this is definitely worth trying if you can swing it.
Difficulty: 8/10The course is very fair, but challenging. If you're off the fairway you definitely will find it difficult. This is a course that certainly requires some course management. Planning for where NOT to hit will definitely help your score. Miss in the wrong spots and you're up the creek (no pun intended).
Scenery: 10/10Beautiful surrounding forest, intertwined amongst a residential development that shows itself here and there. The course is certainly well taken care of, with bunkers nicely raked and the course in impeccable shape.
Staff: 8/10Staff at the clubhouse were very friendly, as they take your bag from your car and wash your clubs before your game. Beverage carts were patrolling the course in good numbers and courteous stopping to let you hit your shot, though the maintenance staff did not seem to care about the golfers as they drove right on past several times when we were in the midst of hitting.
Clubhouse: 10/10Fantastic new clubhouse, with beautiful locker rooms and showers. The parking lot needs to be paved as the rain made it quite muddy. The layout of the clubhouse was well designed. The first thing you encounter is the pro shop, the locker rooms, then on to the bar.
Other Intangibles: 8/10The weather held off just long enough for us to get in our round.
The scorecard is well done with diagrams of each hole, and diagrams of each green with numbered pin locations. Cart paths are paved and the directions to each hole is clear.
89/100
I would definitely play here again, though I would encourage the maintenance staff to be a little more courteous to players.

P.S. I shot 87.
